Kitchen Experiments: My First Pecan Pie

I love pecan pie, but never knew how to make it, so I took to Pinterest and tested it out. It’s pretty easy to make, just don’t look for the ingredients on Christmas Eve ha! It came out so yummy, especially the sugary crisp on the pecans.

Recipe found on Pinterest (Make sure to follow me there!)

INGREDIENTS

3 eggs
1 – 1 1/2 cups Pecans
2 cup light corn syrup
1 cup sugar (or brown sugar)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp melted unsalted butter
1 frozen pie crust

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Whisk the eggs together, then whisk in the sugar. Stir in the corn syrup and the softened butter; mix well. Add the vanilla; combine well and fold in the pecans.

Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for about 55 to 60 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Shield outside edges of the pie with a pie shield or aluminum foil about halfway through cooking to prevent overbrowning.
