Show & Tell :: NARS Blush in Taj Mahal + Exhibit A

I’d been mulling over trying NARS blush for months now. Of course, Drake has drawn attention to the much loved “Orgasm” blush, but the variety of colors are insane. Every time I’m in Sephora I swipe a few swatches of them, trying to decide which I should start with. For $26, I wanted to make sure I got the one I loved the most. That’s pretty pricey for just one blush.

I knew the quality was amazing and there were some very unique colors. So which one do I choose.

After snagging a Beauty.com deal, getting a $30 credit for $15, I thought to myself… This is your shot. Go for it.

I posted a quick twitter poll, and after much mental debate, I decided to go for Taj Mahal and Exhibit A. Why? These were colors I didn’t have and were very unique to NARS. I also couldn’t choose just one LOL.

First Impressions:

Taj Mahal is a burnt orange with shimmer, good pigmentation, and blends well. I think the color can work in all seasons.

Exhibit A is a bright matte red that is very pigmented. I was always a tad intimidated by it when I tested it in store but was always drawn to it. Surprisingly it was easy to work with and I think it will compliment many Fall/Winter looks.

Seeing how great the quality is, I still have some others on my wish list like Torrid, Deep Throat, Dolce Vita, Gina, and Albatross. Hint Hint Santa. 🙂

Yay yay yay! I finally have my Sigma makeup brushes! I have been waiting  awhile to get my hands on these and decided to see if I could win some, and what do you know? I did! Woot.

These brushes are pretty great, amazing quality for a nice price! This is the Essential Brush Kit for Face and Eyes.

Here’s what Sigma says about the brushes:

6 professional quality brushes for a complete makeover! The essentials you need to apply makeup to eyes and face.

Brushes in this kit:

  • Large Powder – F30 – Very dense with a rounded top. Ideal to apply powder products on face and body. Natural bristles.
  • Duo Fibre – F50 – Specially designed to generate an ‘airbrushed’ finish when used to apply liquid foundation. It can also be used to apply blush, highlight shades and loose pigments. Blend of synthetic and natural bristles.
  • Pencil – E30 – Precise application of color on the crease, outer corner, and upper and lower lash line. Also ideal to smudge out pencil liner. Natural bristles.
  • Tapered Blending – E40 – Rounded and tapered top. Specially designed to apply and blend color on the crease. Natural bristles.
  • Eye Shading – E55 – Soft and dense with a rounded finish. Can be used to apply pressed or loose eye shadows and pigments. Ideal to build intense color on the eyelid. Natural bristles.

I am very impressed with these brushes and will be going back for more! The blending brush is a standout.
