During this year’s Essence Music Festival, I was able to get an exclusive up close look at the newest beauty subscription service called the Essence BeautyBox. Similar to other monthly mail subscription services, this beauty box will feature luxury samples of the latest trends in beauty, delivered directly to your mailbox. However, Essence is differentiating themselves by offering brands and products curated by the magazine’s trusted beauty editors as well as featuring up-and-coming independent brands from African American owned companies. As they describe it, it is created “for us, by us.”
